Education and Continuing DevelopmentAnnually, we collaborate with Paul Petersen Gymnasium in Denmark to train them to certified telemark and alpine instructors.

Course dates 2025/26

ALPINE level 1

Level 1 Alpine – Beitostølen
12-18 Desember 2025

Alpine Level 1 is the first step in the Norwegian Ski School education. This is the course for those who want to start working as a ski instructor. This course is 7 full days filled with skiing and theory under hte guidance of an experienced instructor. The course contains individual skills training, awarness realtion to ones's own technique, methodology, pedagogy and practical teaching for both children and adult beginners. Passed course qualifies for teching children and adults beginners. Our course instructors have many years of experience with instructor courses and in addition, work full-time as a ski instructor. We require a total of 5 or more candidates to register on the course for the course to run. Please don't book travel/accommodation until you have received course confirmation from us. A minimum of 5 participants is requierd to run the course. If the course is canceled due to too, few participants all participants get full refund.

Alpine Level 2

Level 2 Alpine – Beitostølen

Open to alpine ski instructors who have passed the Level 1 Alpine course. The Level 2 course explores deeper analysis on ski technique, and builds on teaching skills. After passing Level 2 you will be able to teach intermediate skiers and gain IVSI approval which is an international recognition that qualifies you to work in ski schools at home and abroad. Lift pass, accommodation and equipment are not included in the price. We require a total of 5 or more candidates to register on the course for the course to run. Telemark Level 1

Telemark Level 1 is the first step to the Norwegian Ski School education to become an telemark instructor.

Want to become a cross-country instructor? The Level 1 is the first instructor course and the entry to the DNS education system. It is aimed at those who want to work as an instructor in a ski school. Emphasis is placed on teaching skills and skiing technique. On successful completion of Level 1, students will be able to teach children / youth / adult beginners. The price of the course includes 1 year’s membership to DNS. Accommodation and equipment are not included in the price. We require a total of 5 or more candidates to register on the course for the course to run. Have you completed level 1 and the mandatory trainee hours, and are ready to develop further as a cross-country ski instructor? Then level 2 here at Beitostølen is the next natural step.

This course is tailored for those of you who want to delve into technical analysis and communication - and learn how to help your students reach their full potential in a precise, motivating and clear way.
Over seven inspiring days on the trails, you will gain insight into how to develop skiers from beginner to intermediate level. At the same time, you will actively work on further developing your own skiing skills.
